Position Summary:
The Sr. Product Manager will ensure achievement of strategic revenue objectives for our mobility suite of products. The role plays a proactive role in product planning and design to ensure the product is differentiated from competitors. The Sr. Product Manager is involved with the product throughout all stages of the life cycle (conception, definition, development, release, and post-release activities) and drives product strategy, product planning and marketing execution.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Works closely with product development to realistically differentiate the product or product family:
Develops customer-driven product plans, release schedules, and integrated solution for LANDesk software products
Creates product requirements documents, defines problem statements and customer use cases
Translates customer/client needs into new feature enhancements and new services
Evaluates and prioritizes requests for product changes, enhancements, etc.
Determines product objectives and release plans involving internal/external customers
Participates in solicitation and selection of customer participants in agile process
Focuses efforts on specific products or product families across all market segments
Works closely with sales, marketing, business development and customer support: Works to competitively differentiate the product or product family and resolve issues and problems that will affect product's success
Is involved with pricing, promotions, designing demos, directing training courses and other related issues
Works closely with BizDev (Business Development) to identify opportunities in adjacent markets; build vs. buy analysis; evaluate potential partners with possibility of acquisition
Maintains close relationship to customers for awareness of customers' needs and perspectives
Directs creation of launch materials and assists in new product release
Provides work assistance to other team members
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills and Experience:
7 years of experience as a Product Manager
High level of knowledge of all products within a product family, company policies and practices
Thorough knowledge of long-range and operational planning techniques
Experience with mobile products and solutions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to operate as a matrix manager in coordinating people and technical resources from multiple areas of the company
Able to operate without supervision
Strong organizational skills with ability to handle various tasks; attention to detail
Strong oral and written communication skills
Must be able to work well with others as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Ruggedized mobile experience
10 + years of product management/marketing experience
Experience as a product manager with a software company
Education/Licensing/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing or engineering
Advanced degree in business management, marketing, or planning desirable
