Sr. Product Manager - REQ#AO7264 AOptix Technologies
SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:
The Senior Product Manager will play the crucial role of driving AOptix's biometrics and identity product strategy, bringing detailed analyses of market, application, and product requirements and opportunities to the internal leadership teams. This individual will bring the unique ability to provide product vision and articulate technical requirements to inside organizations while communicating and advocating product functions, features, and benefits to the sales force and customer base.
The Senior Product Manager will help to craft and communicate and ongoing, long-term product roadmap aligned with corporate objectives, business development activities, and technology trends. Additionally, the Senior Product Manager will work hand-in-hand with R&D and Engineering to help determine feature tradeoffs based on customer requirements, market opportunities, development resources and program schedules.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This highly dynamic role is ideally suited for a professional with strong leadership experience and deep industry knowledge.
It will include the following responsibilities:
Develop a clear product strategy for the complete biometric product line incuding product goals, features/functions, market positioning, pricing, and financial performance objectives
Analyze potential market segments for demand opportunity, competitive positioning and differentiators, price sensitivity, adoption rate, and channel structure and behaviors, in order to determine relative attractiveness of all segments
Produce comprehensive marketing requirements documents (MRDs), technical product documentation (PRDs), and marketing outreach materials
Develop and execute product launch plans, addressing marketing communications, promotions, demos, internal training, interface with strategic partners and distributors, product certifications, and positioning for new products and major release
Participate with marketing communications in outbound marketing of the products, including trade press, advertising, tradeshows, customer presentations, and collateral materials
Represent the company at trade shows and selected marketing events, and provide on-site support for trial deployments and strategic installations
Collaborate with service support staff to escalate unresolved product issues
Capture, evaluate, and disseminate competitive market information
QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS - EXPERIENCE:
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly and confidently present strategies to cross functional teams, senior management and external partners
Significant people and organizational management skills
Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities
Resourceful and results-oriented, with ability to manage competing deadlines and changing priorities
Comfort working with broad technical teams to assess and communicate issues related to software, user interface design, human factors / usability engineering, industrial design, and mechanical engineering
Significant experience in the biometrics and / or indentity industry, including focus points in one or more of the following areas: High throughput authentication environments, mobile biometrics collection devices, and software solutions and services
Proven experience in driving product strategy, design, and development
Deep interest in creating and analyzing leading edge products
Bachelor's degree in Science or technical field
7 years of relevant experience in Product Management, with a focus on technical products
