Sr. Programming Analyst - Professional Services Health Market Science

The HMS Professional Services Solutions group immediately seeks a Programming Analyst to support customers employing our healthcare provider data management solutions. As part of the Implementation & Support team, the Programming Analyst will assist by maintaining the various data management solutions code base with bug fixes and enhancements dictated by customer needs. The Programming Analyst will help maintain provider data repositories as well as produce data extracts and reports for existing implementations. They will also participate in deploying hotfixes and enhancements to maintain existing production operations and the overall data quality of HMS deliverables and data assets.In addition to supporting existing production systems, the Programming Analyst will assist in the configuration, integration, and delivery of new client implementations. The Programming Analyst must be able to learn and eventually operate and support deployed production services. The Programming Analyst must be keenly focused on following through on assigned activities and must be comfortable working amongst other highly skilled professionals in a fast-paced, Agile software development environment.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Work on enhancements and bug fixes for existing customer MDM, compliance solutions.
Respond to production support issues for client facing implementations
Review application and system logs and examine existing code bases to triage, identify and resolve technical issues
Develop new features and extensions to existing systems in collaboration with Lead Developers and Architects
Maintain and support production systems and participate in code reviews
Analyze system performance, make recommendations, and implement improvements
Estimate and coordinate work with Lead Developers and Scrum Masters
Develop technical knowledge of one or more HMS systems, core technologies and associated business process.
Create and review software documentation
Analyze large data sets using scripting and query tools.
Develop and execute unit tests
Collaborate with onshore and offshore development and QA resources to troubleshoot software related problems on a schedule that maximizes productivity
Other tasks that will be required:
Assist QA team with performing functional testing and ensuring that test results meet defined acceptance and business objectives
Conduct any other ancillary tasks assigned by the company from time to time.
Required Competencies, Methodologies and Toolsets:
BA/BS degree required (engineering, information technology, computer software, computer software or equivalent major preferred)
5+ years of software development, testing, and support in a J2EE-based software development setting including:
Proficiency with Java 1.7 or higher
Advanced Oracle SQL (DML) and PL/SQL programming skills
Operating in Windows and Linux environments
Experience building systems that process large datasets
Java-based and open source technologies such as Linux shell scripting (e.g. Perl, BASH, Python, etc), GNU, Eclipse, GIT, Makefiles, JUnit and JBoss
Strong competency and experience with rigorous unit testing, defect tracking, and bug fixing
Desired Competencies, Methodologies and Toolsets:
3+ years of software development, testing, and support in a J2EE-based software development setting including:
Web-based application development with ExtJS, REST w/ JSON
Basic NoSQL database analysis skills
Real-time search using SOLR
Rapid Application Development using Spring and Ruby
1 year or more experience with healthcare data management ? provider profiles, medical coding, script and/or outlet data
Experience and flexibility with Agile, Scrum or other iterative development methodologies
