Description:
The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of moderately complex to complex projects, or a defined segment of a strategic initiative, including project planning, executing, controlling and closing. Also responsible for time, cost, quality, human resource, scope and risk management.
This position will lead the Business, Technical, and Supplier teams in: 1) developing and consolidating project schedules and work plans, 2) assembling teams and determining cross-team responsibilities, and 3) determining and acquiring the people, equipment, and financial resources needed.
The Sr. PM will also be responsible for successful completion of assigned project - on time and within budget, assuring the solution aligns with/meets the business objective. Serve as a focal point for communications between the project teams and Program Management/Project Sponsor. Develops appropriate control plans to promote/monitor adoption of the solution.
Responsibilities:
Provides leadership, guidance and project management methodologies to plan, monitor and implement projects so that they will complete on time and within budget. Responsible for successful completion of assigned project - on time and within budget, assuring the solution aligns with/meets the business objective.
Coordinates the daily/weekly project team assignments and monitors progress against the work plan to assure that objectives are met within the prescribed time, cost, and quality measures. Evaluate changes in scope and schedule, assess impact on project plan, and coordinate recommendations to the Change Control Board for adjustments in the project scheduled/budget.
Follows up routinely on all issues and risks for the project and communicates concerns/impacts to Program Management/Project Sponsor/Executive Sponsor.
Serve as the primary interface and focal point for communication with Program Management/Project Sponsor/ Executive Sponsor. Interfaces with impacted stakeholders and Executive Sponsor to ensure objectives and customer-focused requirements are defined and aligned with company directions.
Works with Line Management/Process Champions to ensure a quality implementation of project deliverables (technology, training, documentation, etc.) and that the new solution is adopted and new process control procedures are in place. Reviews project work products/deliverables to assure results align with the methodology/support the project objectives.
Provides expertise to other team members to assist in problem resolution.
Keeps up-to-date and educated in skills related to all project management and ensures this information is disseminated throughout the process. Educates team members in project management principles, methods, processes and tools and provides input to team members' performance appraisal process.
Serves as a subject matter expert team member for other Project Managers to enhance and enable standardized Project Management. Define the way teams are managed, identify and implement best practices. Participate in reviews of other projects. Provides advice and counsel to less experienced Project Managers and Coordinators. Works with other Company-sponsored teams as an advisor/mentor to address issues related to project management, productivity improvement, resource allocation, etc.
Requirements:
Extensive knowledge of Project Management disciplines and processes.
Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Process Management, Financial Management/Analysis, and Six Sigma concepts a plus.
Five (5) to seven (7) years experience leading business process or technical implementation projects.
Demonstrated ability to organize and lead a moderately complex to complex project leveraging project management methodology.
Depth of skill with project planning / tracking tools (MS Project or similar Enterprise Project Management tool suite).
PMP Certification a plus.
