JOB OBJECTIVES: Serve as a project leader, responsible for guiding multiple projects of varying degrees of complexity and technical scope through New Product Development Process. Mentor, train, and support project managers and stakeholders. Champion and lead process improvements.
? Lead teams to translate technology into products.
? Serve as a project leader, responsible for guiding projects through New Product Realization (NPR) processes.
? Manage project involving engineering, biological or chemical technologies.
? Responsible for managing projects and leading teams in the development of regulated products (GMP, IVD).
? Regular and predictable attendance is required.
? Lead multidisciplinary project teams consisting of research, marketing, manufacturing, quality assurance, and legal, including project priorities and resource needs. Lead projects involving other corporate sites, outside business relationships, and across multiple technical areas.
? Lead teams in the use of design control processes for the development of regulated products.
? Collaborate with commercial sponsors and key stakeholders to prioritize projects and address project changes and options.
? Plan, monitor, and control projects throughout their lifecycle.
? Document detailed customer requirements, business requirements and product format specifications to establish the project deliverables.
? Achieve product quality goals, time-to-market objectives, meeting product cost targets, and track project cost targets.
? Identify and manage issues; identify, manage, and mitigate risks to reduce negative impact on deliverables, quality, due dates, and cost.
? Facilitate resolution and drive decisions across project teams, sponsors, functional managers, and upper management.
? Report project status and performance data as required to sponsors, stakeholders, and management and team members.
? Build teamwork within the project team but also across departments, corporate sites, and external partners (clients/vendors) that impact the success of projects.
? Plan Design Transfer activities and provide guidance in Design Transfer, aligning Research and Operations across corporate sites.
? Measure project and team member performance through out the project comparing work performed in comparison to budget, schedule, and quality. Perform corrective action and communicate to stakeholders.
? Identify and champion improvements to Design Transfer and the New Product Development Process.
? Track and report project progress, status, and time in detail.
? Understands and complies with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.
? Provide updates, share best practices and department information at various company meetings.
? Oversee and provide guidance to projects or parts of larger projects managed by other Project Managers.
? Provide training in the New Product Development Process to other departments and within the Project Management Group.
? A BS degree in a scientific/engineering discipline with 6+ year?s product development project management experience developing instruments for the Pharma, Medical Device or Biotech markets.
? Experience working in an ISO 13485 environment.
? Demonstrated ability in directly utilizing project management software (e.g. Microsoft Project).
? Completion of a PMI accredited Project Management Training Program (e.g. UW Madison Master Certificate in Project Management).
? Demonstrated ability in Design Transfer.
? Demonstrated ability to manage a project involving engineering and/or biological reagents.
? Strongly prefer experience in a QSR environment.
? PMI Certification in Project Management (PMP).
? Working knowledge of New Product Development Process.
? Expertise in using Microsoft Project.
? Ability to work at lab bench or fume hood for extended period of time.
? Ability to wear protection gear (gloves, lab coat, safety glasses, etc).
? Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally.
? Ability to operate a computer.
