The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple projects in various stages of implementation. The Sr. Project Manager has strong project management skills, experience in successful relationship management, as well as experience implementing and managing large scale enterprise software projects. This is a full time position reporting to the Director of Implementation Services and the ideal candidate will be based in either Dallas or the New York City area. Candidates in other areas will also be considered.
Leads and manages large and complex District/State Projects, ensuring implementation is completed on time, to scope, and within budget.
Delivers and leads the overall software product setup based on written specifications and decisions made by the client throughout the software implementation process.
Works with client to identify and articulate Project goals and objectives; ensures all tasks and decisions align to goals and objectives.
Creates and maintains all project documentation including, but not limited to, the annual Statement of Work, the annual Project Plan, all Change Requests, periodic internal and external status reports, and periodic usage reports.
Follows standard project management practices and applications while identifying ways to improve implementation methods.
Develops project schedules, communicating resource needs, monitors and controls work in progress, facilitates status meetings and ensures that project schedules are met.
Manages and grows client relationships and maintain high levels of client satisfaction through expectation setting and risk management.
Works with the client to increase the usage and adoption of the Schoolnet products and services, helping to create a positive culture of data use.
Collaborates with Pearson Team to actively identify additional products and services with existing customers; manage change control process as necessary.
Understands and supports internal and partner vendor implementations, involving both Web Services and Extract/Transformation/Load (ETL) architectures, from a data perspective.
Manages the client?s upgrade process to new versions of software; Keeps clients informed of features and functions that will be available in upcoming product releases.
Manage client product expectations by understanding and adhering to established product development process; balance both client wants with Pearson company objectives.
Provides weekly progress reports and customer satisfaction ratings to appropriate levels of management and customers.

Tracks and manages the project budget and financials, ensuring that the project is meeting the budgeted thresholds.
Mentors and coaches team members.
Scopes new project and service requests, prepares and maintains the project plan for delivery, in addition to evaluating progress against the project plan.
Responsible for managing multiple demanding clients and the internal project teams servicing the clients.
Becomes subject matter expert in all Schoolnet modules within 60 days of hiring.
Independently manages client projects within 60 days of hiring.
Must be able to multi-task, manage multiple high priority client needs to completion in a complex organization, and produce deliverables (not just oversight).
B.S./B.A. required, MBA and/or PMI certification preferred
10+ years applicable work experience with previous consulting, project and Project management experience required, 10+ years? experience in K-12 education.
7+ years of software implementation expertise with data integration
Proven ability to organize and coordinate multiple assignments/clients simultaneously with associated deadlines
Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and build relationships with internal and external organizations
High proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with Project a must
Experienced in web content formatting using HTML, XML, etc. preferred
Proven capability to successfully manage multiple large scale clients in various states of implementation and maintenance simultaneously
Experienced at risk identification, management, and mitigation
Keen understanding of working with third-party vendors
Ability to motivate and manage resources that are not direct reports
High proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project a must
Excellent skills in communication, negotiation and consensus building
Strong client facing, project management skills with history of formal project management training
Able and willing to travel nationally with a 50% travel requirement
