About the Role
We are looking for a talented, experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team and immediately have an impact on providing quality assurance and control as we develop our ground breaking PlayPhone Social Gaming Network. You will be responsible for establishing procedures from previous experience, finding and troubleshooting bugs and quirks in our mobile applications across many devices, and working tightly with our Engineering team members to suggest, implement, and refine solutions based on your findings.
What you'll do
Take ownership of testing various aspects of PlayPhone?s PSGN, SDK?s, and other implementations.
Enforce consistency across a variety of supported mobile devices and platforms
Test functionality, fixes and provide feedback on results
Create, execute and maintain test plans based on product specs and user feedback
Perform both manual and automated testing utilizing open source tools
Work closely with the engineering team on resolution of problems
Provide resolutions for tasks within your skillset.
What we expect from you
5+ years of relevant experience
Ambitious, curious, independent are desirable qualities
Experience testing mobile applications (Android, Apple iOS, or HTML5)
Basic knowledge of scripting languages (PHP, JavaScript, Python, Shell Scripting, etc.)
Exposure to Wireshark, Firebug and other debugging tools is desirable
Familiarity with SQL and ability to manually inspect the data in a database.
Familiarity with web security concepts and a hacker mentality
Experience with bug tracking and project management tools such as Rally, JIRA, Pivotal Tracker
Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, and prioritize several projects simultaneously
Excellent oral and written communication skills, solid education
