Sr. Recommendation System / Machine Learning Engineer Gogobot
You will be responsible building the recommendation engine for a revolutionary social travel service - think "Pandora for travel"... You will research, design and implement scalable machine learning algorithms to personalize user experience and deliver the most relevant results based on each users' unique tastes. This is a full time position in Menlo Park, California.Requirements:
M.S. or Ph.D. with 4+ years of industry experience
Experience building large-scale recommender system
Experience with large-scale data mining using Hadoop/Hbase/Pig or MapReduce/Sawzall/Bigtable a plus
Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources
Expert level experience with an object oriented programming language
Experience with SQL and MySQL (LAMP stack)
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Highly motivated self-starter
Ability to tackle challenging problems on a tight schedule
Prior experience with building platform technologies a plus
Knowledge in natural language processing, and/or information retrieval, information extraction, text classification are pluses
You learn new languages and technologies quickly, are innovative, enjoy challenges and have a great work ethic
