We build highly interactive, personalized shared-decision products help consumers find treatments that work. As part of that mission, we offer well-researched, engaging, instructive content across a wide range of health topics.
As a member of the Content Team, the Senior Research Manager is an individual contributor and a project manager. The Senior Research Manager is responsible for user-facing health content and supporting back-end projects.
This is primarily a research, writing and editing position, although the position also involves contribution to product development and strategic discussions. You would be responsible for creating and overseeing the production of well-researched, well-written, user-facing content and associated projects for a health website.
The candidate would play an integral role in Wiser Health?s ongoing mission to align payers, care providers and patients.
Experience with medical research is a must!
Collaborate with in-house and external writers, editors and medical advisors to write, edit and update high-quality, up-to-date, clear, succinct, objective health content
Distill complex clinical language from medical journals, sources for clinicians, and summaries of trials, systematic reviews or meta-analyses into concise, easy-to-understand language
Manage the process of mapping medical codes (ICD-9/10, CPT codes, NDCs, HCPCS codes) to WiserTogether?s content. Contribute to discussions about how to use codes to organize content or link costs to treatments.
Manage the process of mapping clients? health insurance coverage and FSA-eligibility information (from SPDs and other benefits documents) to treatments on client-specific websites
Maintain key indexes and classification systems used within health information technology systems. Includes understanding and knowledge of key industry standards and ontologies (e.g., RxNorm, ATC System, SNOMED, etc).
Work with the technology team and QA analysts to upload and check content on the site.
Contribute to consumer health survey design
Knowledge of medical terminology, medical codes and/or health benefits REQUIRED
Willingness and ability to quickly get up to speed on unfamiliar topics and clearly communicate findings to stakeholders verbally and in writing
Excellent medical research skills and the ability to determine quality sources from unacceptable sources
Ability to extract scientific data and translate information into plain English
Demonstrated comfort with data, including sufficient knowledge to determine both clinical and statistical significance and validity of research results
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with team that is primarily remote
Excellent organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail, including grammar, punctuation and spelling
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under time constraints
High comfort level with various technology applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel, Google docs, project management systems (e.g., Jira), content management systems, internal wikis (e.g., Confluence)
Bachelor?s degree required; Master?s degree preferred in related field, such as healthcare strategy, medical research, health policy, public health, health informatics, journalism/English, pre-med, biology or knowledge management
5-7 years experience in health-related web product development, editing, journalism or knowledge management in a healthcare field
Experience working for a consumer-facing health product preferred.
