Continually improve Knewton?s security posture (reduce MTTD and attack surface).
Effective incident response, including postmortem analysis, and overseeing remediation.
Respond to partner requests regarding security of the Knewton platform.
Manage external security vendors (e.g., pentesters).
This position reports to Head of Infrastructure, and has the potential to grow into a team lead/team management role.

Significant hands-on experience securing large-scale consumer web applications or APIs, ideally, in a continuously-deployed, cloud-based environment.
In-depth knowledge of authentication/authorization systems (we use kerberos, OAuth, LDAP), and TLS/SSL.
Experience with FERPA and COPPA (is helpful).
We?d also love to know about your contributions to open source projects; literary, musical or other creative interests; and anything else that might set you apart.
Perks include the latest Macs with huge monitors, a kitchen filled with your favorite treats, flexible hours, unlimited vacation time, frequent guest speakers, generous health benefits, equity, and a chance to do meaningful, cutting-edge work to transform education.
