The Senior Service Operations Engineer is a key member of the Business Aviation Service Operations team and will be responsible for delivering the highest quality 2nd line support and network performance monitoring.
You will be leading the troubleshooting and recovery from network incidents as well as leading the effort for 2rd line trouble-shooting support for technical issues.
In addition, you will drive the development of key performance indicators that can be used for network and product performance analysis.
Essential Responsibilities
Lead the 2rd line support for technical issues escalated from the 1st & 2nd Line Application Engineers and Technical Support Team.
Responsible for the troubleshooting and recovery from network incidents, and work with the business in permanent problem resolution
Drive critical analysis of key performance indicators to aid with continuous improvement efforts related to network quality and performance.
Work with other Aircell teams to develop and deliver service operations plans for new products and services.
Provide direction to other team members as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor?s Degree in computer science, telecommunications, mathematics or related technical field or equivalent work experience.
15+ years of relevant experience
Minimum of 5 years leading projects and/or teams.
Other Skills and Experience
Previous experience working in a wireless network carrier operational environment and knowledge of data centers preferred.
Strong background in networking including but not limited to: TCP/IP, firewalls, network authentication systems, SNMP, CDMA, mobile devices, and Wi-Fi required.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot challenging issues in a network carrier environment using log files, test applications, and other debugging tools (packet captures) as well as the use of databases and the creation of SQL queries.
Seasoned professional able to interact with people at all levels of the organization and with customers; effective communication skills with the ability to work with other groups to understand their work processes and information sources and to aggregate, organize, and present data.
Ability to work independently and efficiently handle multiple tasks and projects.
Proficiency in trend analysis and the development of tools and techniques to further identify and classify problems.
Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new tools quickly and efficiently.
