Sr. Software Applications Engineer - COBOL Responsibilities: Provides analysis of current program functionality. Performs code improvements to eliminate program errors while maintaining application functionality. Provides programming estimates and programming status updates. Recommends design alternatives to enhance the performance and functionality of application software. May determine methods and procedures used on new assignments. Translates the System Requirement Specifications into detailed technical design Obtains review and approval of the technical design document before proceeding to implementation Designs quality application programs using various development methodologies. Provides programming and project estimates and status updates. Analyzes and prepares technical requirements for new development and current products. Performs technical application consulting and support for clients. Documents program modifications, test plans, user requirements and other relevant information. Installs/upgrades Infor products. Requirements: Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree , Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent. At least 5 years of working experience in programming using COBOL (not Mainframe) Knowledge and experience with UNIX platform Strong knowledge of relational database concepts Strong time management skills Experience with various development tools Expert on own products and a contributor on other products Proficient problem solving, interviewing and fact finding skills Strong analytical and technical skills and ability to multi-task Applicants must be willing to work in McKinley Hill,Taguig City.
