Job DescriptionDesigns, creates and maintains web user interfaces using ASP.Net and Silverlight through Microsoft?s Visual Studio .Net 2008/2010 development suite. Performs product design, bug verification, release testing, and beta support projects which may require research and analysis. Operates under minimal supervision. Reports to a Software Engineeing Manager. Requires six to eight years of technical experience in product design and product support.
Required Skills
Performs complex product design, systems analysis and programming activities on web user interfaces which may require some research:
Designs, creates and maintains web user interfaces using ASP.Net and Silverlight through Microsoft?s Visual Studio .Net 2008/2010 development suite.
Performs design, implementation and maintenance of single product modules/sub-systems or on lower level issues of multiple products.
Prepares technical documentation of product sub-systems.
Conducts unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits.
Performs moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned UI products. Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions to the problems with ASP.Net and Silverlight.
Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. Researches new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology.
May assist in performing on-site client work on moderately complex applications.
Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Strong understanding of C# language.
Strong OOD/OOP skills.
Strong understanding of XHTML.
Strong understanding of JavaScript.
Strong understanding of CSS.
Strong understanding of XML.
Experience with Visual Studio .Net 2008/2010
Knowledge of cross browser platforms.
Knowledge of web security.
Thorough technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design and implementation.
Excellent analytical and design skills at multiple product level.
Excellent skills in research and analysis, project planning and implementation.
Excellent understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance.
Aware of business issues as they impact overall project plans.
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Advanced PC skills with the ability to work in a demanding team situation.
Must be a lateral thinker who is familiar with solving complex problems.
Demonstrated experience in delivering software products
Experience in developing multi-platform applications
Equipment and Applications
Experience with Visual Studio .Net 2008/2010
Experience with ASP.Net web application development in C#
Experience with Visual Studio 2010 a plus
Experience with Team Foundation Server a plus
Knowledge of Networking and systems security
Experience with Win32 application developmenta plus
Experience with TSQL a plus.
Experience with Linux/Unix application development a plus
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in business, software engineering or computer science. Requires seven to ten years of technical experience in product design and product support of web user interfaces using ASP.Net.
