Senior Software Engineer (6480.6)
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions. Build and improve next-generation real-estate search engine, including back-end applications. Complete projects involving large scale data acquisition, crawler, distributed data processing, refactoring of existing data processing applications, optimizing web services, latency, and scalability. Contribute to projects relative to search indexing and caching of back-end layers.
REQUIREMENTS:
Employer will accept Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or related technical field, and six years of work experience in job offered or six years of work experience in a computer-related occupation..
Experience must include:
- Minimum six years of software development background, including testing / QA, development, and implementation
- Server side Java development experience
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms, including when to leverage existing libraries vs. building your own
- Database design in SQL, MySQL
- Data set manipulation, parallelization of solutions
- UNIX/Linux
- Algorithm development
- Source control and release management
- Scripting (Python, Perl, Ruby or equivalent)
- Experience with IDEA, Eclipse or equivalent
- Hadoop Solr / Lucene Tomcat, Jetty Maven, or ANT Distributed programming / databases
