Senior Software Engineer, Back End Services

You must have



Proven experience building highly scalable and available production web services;

Experience and desire to lead the architectural design of complex distributed systems;

A philosophy of rapid iteration and continuous improvement;

A B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent; and

5 or more years of professional programming experience.



You must be



Fluent in a variety of languages like Ruby, Java, Perl, Python, C++;

Deeply versed in internet protocols & standards;

Knowledgeable and proficient in concurrency and scaling techniques (caching, asynchronous/background job queues, etc.);

Passionate about code quality and software best practices.

Extra points if you

Have experience building complex web applications in a web framework (RoR or others);
Know your way around any NoSQL database;
Can (and have) deploy apps to the cloud (Amazon, Rackspace, Heroku, etc.);
Have extensive experience with -nix;
TDD. Mega points for RSpec.
