Job Duties:
In this newly created role, you will work closely with a select team of the brightest software engineers in the analytics and database space who are solving performance and scalability challenges.
Projects will include:
--Increasing the performance for an already fast database product, which was designed for high availability in 24/7 scalable environments.
--Improving enterprise readiness to provide reliable searches without corrupting data.
--Researching and designing new algorithms to perform database analytics. This means not only doing the research but coming up with the design and building the software with C++ / OOD.
--Creating software solutions to get to the data faster and graphically displaying it so users can visualize the results for improved business intelligence.
You will be given a choice of multiple computer science issues to solve:
--designing software to implement distributed algorithms to address demands for concurrency; or
--designing software to handle high performance I/O issues when building file systems; or
--designing software architecture for high availability in a distributed environment; or
--designing algorithms for distributed architecture or concurrency.
Salary Range:
--$125K to $145K + stock options

Job Requirements:
--Must have minimum of 5 years professional experience with fundamental algorithms and data structures and OOD using C++ or Java.
--Must have experience with distributed systems, concurrent programming (multi-threaded / multi-process).
--Must have experience with one of these areas: high-performance disk i/o; or communications/networking protocols; or query execution algorithms (i.e, in-memory or disk-based sorting and join processing); or analytics SQL functions; or massive parallel processing (MPP) or high-performance computing (HPC) systems.
--Above all, my client wants to find passionate top-notch engineers who are smart and love to solve problems with computer science.
--Experience delivering complex solutions, algorithms, and creative designs.
--Experience with agile to produce results in short increments using C++ on Unix/Linux platforms (open to Java or "C" developers who understand OOD).
Educational Requirements:
--Degree in Computer Science, Masters or PhD preferred.
