We are seeking talented engineers to join our DevTools Team to manage development tools that enable a Continuous Deployment culture at Etsy, where sixty-five engineers deploy code to our site over twenty times a day.About the Engineering Team

About the Job
The "DevTools" team at Etsy is responsible for dev infrastructure and application level ops work. We don't rack servers, but we manage system configurations, write database tools, manage virtualization, and integrate application stacks across the engineering teams. We work very closely with the Operations, Core Platform, and Automations teams to enable a DevOps culture.
Speed is important to everything we do, whether it's building out a development environment or deploying code to production servers. We're never more than an arm's length away from a stopwatch or a microtime().
You should be comfortable thinking in nanoseconds, petabytes, disk seeks, network latency, error rates, and power laws. The word "millions" is used frequently, and in many contexts. Ideally you have a "measure twice, cut once" tattoo. Come prepared to talk about your favorite graph you ever made, or the most epic catastrophe you've caused.
About You
For our DevTools Team, we are seeking engineers with:
Demonstrated ability to master any programming domain, given a little time to do so (you've likely worked with a variety of languages in your career).
Strong database experience, especially around scaling applications.
Understanding of the various aspects involved in running a large-scale web site.
Works in all layers of the web stack, from javascript to linux configuration
