Sr. Software Engineer - Domain Registry Development

This is a unique opportunity to work on the services that support the internet. Registry Development is a small engineering team that supports the acquisition, configuration, name services, and maintenance of internet domains. We work directly with technical staff supporting new top level domains, such as .band, .NYC, .Army, .Ninja and with industry standards like Verisign for .COM. We work at scale with over 13 million domains in our portfolio. We are looking for a combination of technical competence, operations experience, communications excellence, and superior drive.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement internal and external APIs supporting registry, commerce, and auction platforms
- Design, develop, and implement application middleware supporting internal and external clients
- Write tools supporting testing, configuration, troubleshooting, and other maintenance activities
- Deliver software and configuration releases as required
- Provide excellent Tier 3 production system support for our 24x7 operations
- Evaluate changes in industry and vendor specifications to identify changes required in supported systems
- Evaluate system performance and provide status and tuning recommendations
Requirements
- Excellent C# development skills with 3+ years experience in commercial software
- Knowledgeable in TCP/SSL development with windows services
- Demonstrated use of threading in scaled environments
- Good working knowledge of SQL and schema design
- Excellent written and verbal communication ability
Senior Candidates will have
- Detailed understand of internet domain lifecycles, EPP and WHOIS protocols
- Client development experience with IIS/ASP and JSON or similar stacks
- Full SDLC experience with expert level SCM in Team Foundation Server
- Detailed application monitoring techniques using SCOM or similar applications
- Experience with NUnit, Selenium, or similar automation frameworks
