Sr. Software Engineer - (Java / web services) Verticals onDemand, Inc.

Veeva Systems is seeking a Sr. Engineer for scalable, multi-threaded application development on a Linux based J2EE infrastructure. Experience in writing metadata driven application development, large datasets and streamlining is a big plus. In this hands-on position, you will work with a smart, highly motivated team to solve technical challenges that are associated with our ever growing number of customers. The Sr. Software Engineer will contribute to lead the technical design and implementation of Product Features for various products at Veeva Systems. An ideal candidate for this role is a self-starter, who loves technical challenges, and has prior experience working on a variety of engineering projects in a fast paced environment, with a passion for customer success. Responsibilities:

Build highly scalable, extensible platforms and applications
Collaborate with Product Management and Development team members on technical design and problem solving to come up with compelling solutions to problems
Contribute towards application oriented infrastructure management
Accountable for delivery of projects within schedules and timelines
Contribute to troubleshooting and technical support of the product

Skills:

Knowledge of Salesforce.com - Nice to Have
Knowledge of SaaS applications - Nice to Have

Experience:

8 years of software development experience with increasing responsibility on multiple platforms
Expert in OO design and implementation using Java or C++
Experience in highly scaling, multi-threaded software design
Prior experience in developing Java applications on Linux infrastructure
Prior experience in configuring applications to perform in a clustered environment
Ability to work in a diverse environment (Java, Salesforce.com, Javascript, REST, WebServices )
Experience in development of Web based applications
Capable of technical deep-dives into code
BS in engineering/science (Computer Science preferred)
