Sr. Software Engineer- OpenStack Mirantis
As the Senior Software Engineer you will be working as a team leader for a group of developers and be responsible for designing and developing features for solutions based on OpenStack for some of the leading enterprises in the World. Responsibilities also include working with the open source community, code reviews, writing design documents, and attending various design meetings. You should be able to look at requirements, design appropriate solutions, scope and estimate time to complete development. You must be able to communicate well with your team, members of the community and others within Mirantis. Lead other engineers, delivering results under time pressure.
Analyze customer requirement, design solutions and architectures.
Design and implement OpenStack features in Python.
Work in a customer-facing capacity, developing requirements, designs and implementation proposals.
Translate customer requirements to work items that can be implemented by others on the team.
Drive the collaboration process with customers, community members and decision-makers.
Engage in conversations with community, exchange ideas and find ways to improve OpenStack
Keep current on what's happening in the OpenStack community and how the technology evolves
Assist the project manager by managing your project schedule.
Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent
At least 7 years of experience as a developer.
Extensive programming experience in Python.
Strong knowledge of Linux and L2-L7 networking
Experience with RDBMS (e.g., MySQL).
Experience working with messaging systems (e.g., RabbitMQ).
Working knowledge of configuration management frameworks (Puppet, Chef), orchestration frameworks (Salt, mCollective).
Good understanding of High-Availability (HA) architectures and deployments.
Working experience with OpenStack, CloudStack, VMWare vDirector or other cloud management frameworks
Understanding of virtualization technologies, different types of virtualization and its applicability to real-world workloads
