Description:
As a member of the Software Engineering team, will design new products and support existing networking communication products. Responsible for developing and implementing performance optimization algorithms for DSL; interfacing with Hardware, System Test, and Customer Support organizations on complex field issues; and for developing and contributing on new Ethernet and DSL based standards. Responsible for taking over the Repeater Code base and making modifications to increase DSL retrain times due to line failures. Duties will include designing, implementing, and testing diagnostic aids, such as time-domain reflectometer (TDR) and Tone, on new and existing products.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or foreign equivalent) and 5 years progressive experience as a DSP (or Firmware) Engineer, Engineer (Technical Specialist), or Software Engineer. Experience must include 5 years working with all phases of the SW lifecycle; using C and C++; Make; performance optimization of DSPs; two of the following DSL development technologies (G.SHDSL, ADSL, VDSL, or VDSL2); and with one of the following source code control systems (SVN, MKS or Perforce). Also requires 3 years working with APIs.
