Ideal candidate will be experienced in managing a team of high caliber software engineers working on software applications, as well as both frontend and backend services. You will own and drive technical projects and provide leadership in a fast-paced environment. You will participate in the overall planning, execution, and success of a complex cross-functional and geographically dispersed team.
Management of day-to-day tracking of software projects in order to meet client expectations, reduce project and technical risks and execute projects on-time, within budget, and with the highest quality.
Build collaborative partnerships with software architects, technical leads and key individuals within other functional organizations (such as the user experience team, learning & training team and product management team).
Establish and manage a development process that is commensurate with the team culture, ensuring a highly efficient and effective team.
Manages performance reviews and ensures there is accountability within the team.
Allocates and re-allocate resources to projects to ensure its success
Participation in the Recruitment and building of effective teams by understanding the technical skills, critical roles and chemistry between associates.
Mentor and grow the capabilities of the team's software engineers to meet project goals as well as individual career goals.
Ability to manage and resolve complex and ambiguous issues
Foster a goal driven culture (contrast with task oriented) within the team with a specific focus on near term deliverables
Translate requirements into work plans meeting time, quality, and cost constraints
BS/MS in Computer Science or other technology discipline.
Eight (8+) years of software development experience
Four (4+) years of people management experience preferably within software development
Experience managing large scale software development projects through complete release cycles
Experience communicating with geographically distributed team including onshore and offshore resources
Outstanding verbal/written communication skills and interpersonal skills are a must
Strong presentation skills
Strong teamwork skills.
Ability to effectively and efficiently work in a cross-functional environment including Product Managers, User Experience professionals and QA engineers.
Flexible and accommodative in all aspects of management.
Appreciation for agile methodologies
