Who We Want:
The Quality Assurance Software Engineer?s tasks will be focused on testing all aspects of a SOA based web application. As the quality and software testing expert on the team, you will be ensuring that our clients are able to display User Generated Content on their websites and that their customers are able to view and submit content.
After the first 60 days, you will be expected to run and maintain the existing test automation regression suites, report quality metrics to stakeholders on a regular basis, and play a key role in our regular release process. After 6 months, you will know the ins and outs of the Conversations display and submit application that the regression harness tests. You will be expected to have added test cases to the existing regression harness and have developed new tests where needed. After 9 months, you will be expected to be an expert in the field of ensuring the quality of our Conversations display and submit application.
Day to day responsibilties will include contributing to our daily scrum sprint activities (planning, stand ups, demos, etc.), continue to increase our level of automated test coverage in our webdriver test suite, and validate our releases to our production environment.
Analyze requirements and stories from business partners
Develop effective test cases to ensure that the system functionality meets the requirements
Measure and report the progress and success of testing efforts
Create automated tests and maintain automated test scripts/code
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrate the ability to be self-motivated and show initiative to take on tasks
Ability to take on duties in unfamiliar territory
Manage business context and pressures around quality and time to market
Skills and Experience Necessary for the Role:
Extensive experience in API, Restful and/or UI test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, GWT)
Experience working with various data stores, including document based and RDBMS
Good interpersonal and organizational skills
Experience with XML, JSON, and other markup languages
Experience coding in JAVA or another OO language
Experience with SQL and/or other database technologies
Experience with mobile web testing
Experience with performance testing
Bachelor?s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline, preferred
