The Speech Sciences and Analytics group is responsible for continually innovating and improving 24/7?s premier voice applications. The Speech Sciences and Analytics group is responsible for research, development and implementation of speech recognition and predictive analytics solutions that address clients? needs across the life cycle of their interactions with their customers. At 24/7, we are developing the science of intuitive consumer experience and building cutting edge solutions by applying machine learning, data mining, natural language processing and text mining to customer interactions.
In this Speech Sciences and Analytics group, the Senior Speech Technology Engineer will work alongside Data Scientists and Application Engineers and will be responsible for understanding the speakers? intent from speech data. An ideal candidate should have strong depth and breadth of knowledge in speech sciences, speech recognition, machine learning, data mining, and statistics.
The Senior Speech Technology Engineer should have excellent knowledge of available tools and processes to manipulate unstructured speech data and build prototypes that work on massive datasets. The candidate should be able to design components that work within production systems. Knowledge of programming and scripting is also necessary.
Develop advanced speech algorithms for Speech Recognition, Statistical Language Modeling, and Natural Language Understanding (NLU)
Design and develop analytic models using both structured and unstructured speech data to derive:
Information extraction and retrieval
Research, design, prototype, develop and support NLU systems that analyze unstructured customer interaction speech data in Finance, Communication, Travel, Retail and Technology industries
For natural language intent prediction, design and conduct iterative usability tests to evaluate, optimize and provide feedback to Engineering teams in the development of core technologies
Perform data extraction, manipulation, cleaning, analysis, modeling and data mining in support of your contributions
Performing experiments and analyze results to improve the performance and quality of available algorithms
Constantly learn and experiment with available APIs
Work closely with the Speech Scientist/Engineering team in the development of Semantic Interpretation engines that employ POS tagging, and morphological intent modeling
Make recommendations to resolve and improve application performance problems
Subject matter expert with deep knowledge in Speech Recognition, Statistical Language Models, Statistical NLP theories (Latent Semantic Analysis, Linear Discriminant Analysis, HMM, etc.)
Hands-on experience with SLM techniques and toolkits such as SRILM and CMU
Hands-on experience in NLP techniques such as Text Classification & Clustering, Topic Summarization, Text Mining, Statistical Language Modeling etc.
Hands-on experience with some of the NLP toolkits such as NLTK, Stanford NLP, GATE, Mallet, etc.
Knowledge and experience with machine learning/data mining techniques (supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning)
Excellent software development background.
Experience with C++, Java, and/or C#
Script languages such as Python, Perl, etc.
Experience with statistical/machine learning package (R, SAS, Weka, etc.)
Experience with handling large speech datasets
Master's Degree in relevant major (Computational Linguistics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering)
Over 5-8 years of relevant industry experience in Speech Processing, Linguistics, NLP/NLU etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical background and proven ability to make data-driven decisions
Outstanding attention to detail

Experience with Information Retrieval, Sentiment Analysis
Experience with database and SQL
