RainDance is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure internal and external customer requirements are met by verifying product functionality and performance against product requirements and specifications for complex instrumentation platforms. The person in this role establishes and maintains structured testing methodology as well as responds to inquiries from users and technical support regarding functions and operations of software programs. You will be tasked to identify process improvements, error trends and/or the root causes and make recommendations for remedies to colleagues and management.
Use test automation software programs to set up test trials and preconditions to examine product functionality, content and user friendliness.
Simulate product performance, evaluate results and compare those results with predicted outcomes.
Identify and document product problems or defects using bug tracking systems.
Create databases of known defects in order to develop protocol for repeat problems.
Analyze defects and may either send the product back to developers for modification.
Aside from product testing, also review product requirements and specifications in order to foresee potential issues, provide input of functional requirements and advise on design.
Provide suggestions to improve testing strategies, as well as utilize databases to create reports and presentations on any defects.
Develop and execute against high quality project plans including development of project related documents, schedules, milestones, and risks associated with SQA activities.
Facilitate cross-functional communication between all disciplines (Product Development, R&D, Marketing, Operations, Quality, other) within the organization to drive deliverables against identified project timelines.
Primary point of contact for all SQA project activities and acts as primary interface with internal resources and external partners related to SQA efforts.
Champions team compliance to the Design Control Process for software development and test.
Tracks and transfers software project documentation into a design history file according to internally-defined procedures.
Prepares SQA reports, analyses, and presentations for technical design and project phase review meetings.
Develops and introduces best practices and tools for SQA activities.
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a closely related field
Minimum 7-10 years of related experience in Software Quality Assurance testing methodology
Understanding of file caches, advanced knowledge of browser configuration, experience working with defect tracking tools and reporting tools.
Thoroughly familiar with regulatory requirements of FDA/QSR, ISO 13485 and related.
Windows applications development using C#/ .net; C++ code development for embedded systems control.
Experience with GUI development using XML; XAML experience desirable
Significant experience with image processing software applications, database tools, and statistical analysis methods
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong team player and ability to communicate at all levels of an organization.
Proficient with MS Office including MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
