Inphi is looking for a CAD engineer to help develop and support our diverse AMS design flow, and drive the scalability and productivity of Inphi chip and system designs. Key Responsibilities include
Define, develop, and support Inphi?s custom design environment. Provide overall flow and tool expertise and leadership to support, including schematic capture, full custom layout, SDL, device placement, custom routing, netlisting, and simulation environment
Design of EDA Custom/AMS/RF reference Flows in collaboration with the EDA vendors
Develop and support process technology design kits (PDKs) for various process technologies across multiple foundries
PDK installation and support - Maintain hard IP collateral and own vendor issues with technical completeness and quality of IP
EDA tools evaluations, deployment, training, and technical support - Bug and issue tracking related to design automation
Architect and Develop automation of flows as needed.
Provide prompt advice and recommendations for designers when they encounter issues while using the company design flow.
Interface with other groups, including IT, to assist in enhancing the company?s design productivity and license efficiency.
Work to maximize ROI on licensed EDA software.
Create relevant documentation following the department?s processes.
BS degree in EE or CSE with minimum 15+ years experience in the semiconductor or EDA industry; or MS degree with minimum 12 years experience preferred.
Excellent understanding of Analog-Mixed Signal/RF IC design flow and methodology, proficiency in customizing Cadence Virtuoso front-to-back flow and other IC design tools such as schematic capture, ADE, and Spice simulators
Proficiency in Mentor Graphics Calibre DRC/LVS setup and operation
Working knowledge of version control (SoS preferred), Linux, and Windows environments
Expertise in scripting and customization using Unix/Linux shell scripting, SKILL (preferred), Perl, Python, and similar high level languages
Ability to multitask and track status on several projects simultaneously
Deep knowledge of solid state device physics preferred
Excellent listening, written, and verbal communications skills - Proven ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Experience in the layout environment of Cadence Virtuoso, for both block and chip level preferred
Experience in Agilent ADS (Advanced Design System) a big plus
