As a member of the IT team, you will be responsible for the execution of Livescribe?s IT strategy and initiatives. You?ll have the chance to grow a complex network of business and customer-facing services by improving manageability, reliability, & scalability through automation and industry standard Open Source tools.
We are seeking an experienced, flexible, creative IT professional with the ability to see, solve and prevent problems in our environment. The right candidate has a passion for building reliable, scalable, manageable systems and networks and a demonstrated ability to work closely and collaboratively with other teams and vendors. Address hardware, operating system, storage, network, and application issues before they impact the production environment, including scalability and capacity planning
Research, recommend, install, configure and administer Linux servers/clusters/VMs/Desktops, routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and SAN/NAS storage systems
Propose and implement enhancements to improve the performance and reliability of systems, networks and storage
Document configurations, processes/procedures, methods, and designs
Track departmental hardware/software assets and manage their deployment
5 + years Systems & Network Engineering Experience
5 + years implementing infrastructure for a Production 24x7 Data Center
Expert knowledge administering Linux servers
IP networking with Cisco routers/switches/firewalls
Experience scripting in Linux scripting & automation
Good communication skills including the ability to draft, edit and maintain technical documentation, speak with users and management, provide presentations, etc.
Excellent problem-solving skills
Must be service oriented and reliable, providing consistent follow-through
