This position demands a high energy, self motivated individual who is ready to learn and is comfortable working independently and coordinating within Avidyne, with FAA project management and systems engineers, and with customers and suppliers to achieve results.
This position is responsible for systems engineering and compliance tasks related to FAA certification projects for new and legacy Avidyne products in part 23/25 airplanes.
? Develop or revise compliance data products to include:
Certification Plans and compliance checklists
System Safety Assessment
Test Plans ? avionics cooling, engine sensor accuracy, EMI/RFI , nav/com performance
Electrical load analysis
Instructions for continued airworthiness
? This position is the focal point within Avidyne for development of system safety analysis
Identify analysis methods and tools used in development of SSA
Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA)
Failure Modes and Effects at the functional block level
Reliability predictions (desirable)
? Interface with FAA project management and systems engineers to achieve acceptable means of compliance.
Prepare and present materials to FAA ACO principals on individual projects or specific cert issues
Ongoing interface with ACO on project progress, issues?
? Develop and/or participate in compliance tests ? ground and flight.
? Resolve interface issues by coordinating project requirements with Systems and Design Engineering to provide desired functionality.
Bachelor?s of Engineering ? Electrical, Aerospace or CS from accredited college or university
Direct experience in avionics development, integration or certification
8 to 12 years experience in related Engineering position
Avionics specialization or coursework ? undergraduate, work sponsored or graduate
Familiarity with FAA TSO, STC, TC processes
Knowledge of DO-160 environmental qualification testing
Working knowledge of DO-178 and DO-254 software and complex electronic hardware assurance processes.
Working knowledge of conformity inspection processes to support FAA approvals
Avionics Repairman certificate or A and P
Systems and Equipment DER
Pilots license w/instrument rating
