Summary of Functions:
Due to continued growth we are seeking a Senior System Engineer - Windows at our headquarters in High Point, NC.
Summary of Functions:
Ensures that all system resources (e.g., hardware, storage, software) are operating as efficiently and productively as possible. Monitors system, server, and related resources? performance and takes corrective action when necessary. Upgrades operating system software, custom written software, and other software or hardware as necessary. Conducts investigation and preliminary configuration and testing of new technologies.
Essential Functions:
Maintains computer systems and takes appropriate action to ensure excellent performance and availability
Develops, tests, and implements technical improvements to system configuration and operation following change control processes
Develop scripts to enhance the daily operation and maintenance of production and test systems
Investigates, configures and tests new technologies for use and deployment in the production environment
Complete forms or update databases to reflect all changes affecting the equipment or software inventories (for example, after equipment installations, software installations, or equipment moves)
Implement appropriate procedures to ensure the security of all systems and data
Design, implement, and execute appropriate standardized procedures for production activities such as backup, recovery, archiving, scheduled reporting, and database updates
Design, implement, and execute appropriate standardized procedures to ensure system health and provide reports or logs as required
Provide third-tier support to Support Center. Complete work necessary to resolve assigned Incident tickets within service windows and updates information in the Support Center system to completely describe ticket resolution. Refer problems to level three service providers as required.
Follow department change and configuration management procedures
Provide 24x7 on-call support as required
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Five (5) to seven (7) years system administration experience required, preferably in both Unix and Windows environments, with one or more of the following required: Windows Server, Solaris Unix, Tomcat, Linux
Experience in network management, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, ManageEngine, Oracle-based systems preferred
Microsoft certification or course work preferred
BS/BA degree strongly preferred; substantial relevant experience may be acceptable
