iJET is seeking a senior system administrator or DevOps engineer for a Linux/J2EE environment. This individual will be part of a team responsible for the availability, security, and continued innovation and refinement of iJET's Worldcue services. The successful candidate will work with an experienced, senior engineering team, and be willing to learn new technologies, while refining fundamental skills.
Engineering of system related solutions for various project and operational needs.
Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures and documentation.
Contribute to and maintain system standards.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures.
Work directly with SaaS clients and managed hosting providers to resolve issues.
Required skills to be considered for this position include:
Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science.
5 or more years system administration experience on Linux platforms.
Knowledge of Oracle, Linux, JBoss, Apache, postfix, and portal architectures preferred.
Experience in deploying and maintaining systems with high-availability requirements serving a large and global client base.
Able to work as part of an agile software development process.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Able to participate with the team in providing 7x24x365 support.

Have worked in a company providing a SaaS with high availability and security requirements.
Experience with virtualization, cloud based deployments, automation (Puppet, Chef, Ansible) and continuous software deployment.
Experience with LDAP, single sign-on, SAML 2.0, OAuth, and API management.
Experience with security monitoring, system hardening, patching, and vulnerability mitigation.
