Responsibilities:
Installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, maintenance & monitoring of all production linux/unix servers.
Conduct and manage deployments for various Trustwave products
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to infrastructure systems, design, configuration, support and processes
Diagnose and resolve performance issues across various platforms and products
Conduct research, cost-benefit and return-on-investment analysis on proposed hardware, software and systems to justify recommendations, support purchasing efforts and in making infrastructure design and architecture decisions
Manage, own and report on projects across the IT team
Technical Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of knowledge of linux/unix products and tools and can demonstrate experience and knowledge in the following areas:
Installation, configuration & maintenance of Redhat, Centos, and other linux distributions
Familiarity with common server architecture (RAID, SCSI, SAS) and common vendors (DELL, HP)
Monitoring and capacity planning of resources in production environments
Performing root cause analysis of application bottlenecks in conjuction with engineering/development teams
In depth knowledge of server side technologies (Apache httpd, tomcat, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SSH, NFS, bind, djbdns, qmail, OpenLDAP, OpenSSL, LVS)
Scripting skills in bash primarily. Perl, Python, and Ruby are a plus.
Understand and troubleshoot network issues/services between applications/servers traversing several firewalls
Engineering high-availability systems/environments
Additional preferred skills:
Knowledge of SAN systems (EMC Clariion & Cisco MDS/FM), backup, archive and disaster recover technologies
Other third party certifications a plus
General skills:
A passion for uptime
Ability to work with development teams and synthesize infrastructure requirements from application needs
Ability to successfully balance multiple simultaneous efforts
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Willingness to occasionally work scheduled night/weekend times, and to participate in off-hours on-call schedule
Familiarity with the security industry is desirable but not required
