DescriptionWe seeking a Senior LAMP Systems Administrator with professional emphasis in Hadoop management, support, and architecture. The ideal candidate shall be responsible for systems and processes that assure quality and enable efficiency across all our environments.
Responsibilities:
Support a scalable, extensible, reliable, maintainable Hadoop infrastructure, optimizing hardware and software configurations, and enabling rapid deployment of new Hadoop instances.
Design and implement MapReduce jobs to support distributed data processing.
Install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve software related problems.
Work with other Engineers, Product Managers, and QA teams to design and implement innovative solutions that meet the needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, seliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to development goals and principles.
Maintain, monitor, analyze system components and make recommendations regarding computer system security, monitor network, computer and disk utilization.
Play a lead role in developing and implementing an IT disaster recovery plan.
Conduct software and hardware evaluations, provide technical analysis and implement systems to meet the company?s IT goals.
Develop a strategic IT plan to meet the requirements of overall growth plan to be reviewed on a regular basis with Management and adjusted as necessary.
Work with a team to automate management tasks, streamline processes and perform standard administration functions as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

5 - 7+ years? experience administering UNIX/LINUX systems and applications in a high availability web environment
Ability to work in cross functional teams and to provide necessary data to help the team rapidly resolve overall system performance issues
Some level of Java development experience
Extensive Apache HTTP server and Tomcat application server experience
In-depth knowledge of automation and system/application monitoring concepts, theories, and practices
Strong scripting skills (Bash, Perl, Python, etc)
Familiarity with SOA concepts and technologies, Apache SOLR (or similar solutions) a plus
Familiar with ActiveMQ or similar queueing technologies
Familiar with Cassandra for or other distributed database.
Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Puppet
Experienced in working with highly available and high traffic environments
Experienced with MYSQL server management including replication
Experienced in Object-Oriented PHP development
Experienced in Amazon Web Services including but not limited to VPC, EBS, S3 and EC2
Experienced in enterprise message broker services such as ActiveMQ used in conjunction with Camel
Experienced in Redis or other caching technologies such as Memcachedb
Qualification Pluses:
SAN experience, related to VMware using SAN as the backend. However any SAN experience is plus, and most preferably "HP Left Hand SAN".
HP servers most preferably HP Blade servers and all related aspects of HP servers is another very big plus.
Education:
B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field a plus
