The successful candidate will manage implementations of FuelQuest, Inc., Motor Fuel Software Solutions. This Project Manager must be very well organized and able to manage multiple resources across five to ten projects simultaneously. The Project Manager is responsible for managing project timelines, resources, quality and risk; including, milestone planning and reporting, project budget tracking, budget analysis, project resource request, status reporting, change requests, and basic project administration activities. Project duties include guiding customers through the project life cycle, supporting the customer through roll-out and into post-implementation support. The desired candidate will have a strong project management background and work well in a team environment. Furthermore the successful candidate should have high core competence skills, such as communication, team focus, influence, service oriented, problem solving, analytic thinking, planning, personal development and decisiveness.
Job Description
Location: Houston, TX
This role will be responsible for the technical operations and readiness of our production and corporate platforms. This person will be responsible for meeting, improving and developing Service Level Agreements and Operation Level Agreements to our staff and our customers. In addition this role will ensure technical readiness of servers, network and storage for new and existing services.
An understanding and experience in maintaining a customer facing service delivery platform is a must. The responsibilities of this role will be divided between project work, problem resolution and incident management including day-to-day service desk monitoring and on call rotation with other managed services team members.
This role will serve as the lead network / storage SME and be responsible for working with other team members to develop networking and server operation skills across the team. This team member will also be expected to improve their skills in areas of physical and virtualized networking, Linux, multi-tenant customer isolation as well as our custom systems.
Required Skills:
5+ years experience of related industry/technical experience with Vmware, IaaS, SaaS
5+ years managing customer facing production blade server, enterprise storage, and or data center networking.
5+ years of experience planning and executing of server upgrades, migrations, and virtualization p2v / v2v.
Knowledge of storage technology such as CIFS, NFS, SAS, FC and iSCSI.
Experience developing scripted procedures for maintenance and deployment
Experience handling on-call rotation.
Experience working in a fast-paced customer service environment.
A proven track record of developing and implementing standards and procedures that facilitate operations and documentation for technical build support.
Identify, track and report platform KPIs
Manage platform capacity and expansion planning.
Platform migration to SaaS / IaaS providers including API understanding.
Strong written and verbal communications skills also required.
vCloud Director experience a plus.
Education and Certifications:
VCP certification required.
ITIL v2 or v3 Foundation preferred.
PMP Certification desirable.
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
