Sr. Systems Engineer (Linux) Five9
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED As a Systems Engineer working on Five9?s Operations team, your mission will be to provide secure, available, scalable and operationally excellent infrastructure services.
You will build, monitor and manage critical infrastructure services on fleet of Linux servers, for use by Five9 Software-as-a-Service Call Center Solution. You will design and develop solutions for monitoring and alarming the essential services. You will identify and deliver automation improvements in maintaining large fleet of servers and write scripts to implement innovative solutions. You will watch for external threats to the critical services and take preventive actions toward managing availability and scalability.
You will be working on highly visible projects that directly impact the availability and performance of services across the entire Five9 business. Your work will be fun and challenging every day and you will be working with about every other engineering and operations team at Five9.
The most successful candidates for this role will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, strong coding skills, systems architecture and design, great communication skills and a desire to tackle the complex problems of scale. We are particularly interested in system administrators and UNIX programmers familiar with aspects of running SaaS services at scale. Deep networking knowledge and UNIX internals are also highly desirable.
Minimum 7 years of Linux/Unix System Administration experience
B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Programming experience in a scripting language (Perl, Python, Shell, Ruby)
Experience managing enterprise Java applications
Experience with OS and Applications hardeding
Knowledge of file integrity monitoring solutions
Experience working in mission-critical, operations support environment
Good network troubleshooting skills and experience
Understanding of security requirements and secure architectures
Exposure to networking and routing protocols
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience in MySQL administration
Experience in writing automation scripts and self-service tools
Ability to work in fast-paced environment
