With this exciting product set, we are seeking an SE that is adept at selling enterprise software and helping customers solve challenging security related problems and ensuring they are able to meet their business objectives successfully.
Venafi?s Senior Systems Engineering (SE) mission is to ensure customer success. Customer success starts in the sales cycle as we lead our customers through a process of assessing current security vulnerabilities within their use of encryption keys and certificates. We then help them immediately remediate those vulnerabilities to ensure a consistent security footing.
At Venafi, Systems Engineers are the primary technical resource for the sales force. SE?s are responsible for technical evangelism, assessing current vulnerabilities, helping customers create a remediation plan, and leading all technical activities within the sales process. The SE must clearly articulate how Venafi safeguards the largest organizations in the constant battle against attackers.
Take ultimate responsibility for the technical success of Venafi customers with Venafi solutions in your assigned territory
Use existing tools and techniques to quickly assess vulnerabilities to enterprise encryption keys and certificates, and clearly articulate those risks to our customers and prospects
Be an expert in the various aspects of security that relate to the usage of keys and certificates
Lead customers through the technical due-diligence process, including demonstrations, PoC?s and other engagements.
Ensure technical details and dependencies related to customer opportunities are documented in a clear manner and are managed to resolution through coordination with Product Management and Professional Services
Ensure roadmap dependencies associated with sales opportunities are captured from customers, documented and communicated to Product Management, and managed through to resolution with the customer, escalating where additional visibility and attention may be necessary or a response from Product Management is required in a timely fashion
Effectively transition pre-to-post sales customer relationships according to Venafi post-sales handoff processes and maintain involvement with existing customers to ensure their success
Travel as necessary to support Venafi Sales opportunities within your region
Required Skills & Knowledge
Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in a systems engineering role in the enterprise security software companies. Knowledge of enterprise security is a must. He/she must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written and verbal communication. Candidate must be organized and able to think critically, and is confident enough to be a challenger during the sales process. 50% travel should be expected.
5+ years Systems Engineering or Consulting experience
Enterprise security experience is a requirement
Excellent interview and writing skills are a must
Strong technical systems skills a must
Customer training experience preferred
CISSP or alternative Information Security certification preferred
Public speaking experience and/or published articles preferred
