The Technical Program Manager leads complex, multi-disciplinary projects with a focus on design and implementation of process engineering and manufacturing technology. The Technical Program Manager plans requirements with internal customers and is a key project contributor through the entire project lifecycle, with a special focus on activities from Engineering Validation (EV) through Mass Production launch. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders.
The Technical Program Manager manages the Manufacturing Technology and Process Engineering aspects of projects from initial build through to ramp. The TPM is the cornerstone of operations communication with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, DFx, process, test, supply quality engineers) in the development of new products. The TPM must be well versed in the CM/ODM manufacturing environments and will lead a team of seasoned professionals to ensure products are designed and built to Jawbone?s rigorous standards The TPM must be able to work in a fast paced and sometimes high pressure environment, working with teams to solve problems that gate production line operations throughout the extended Supply Chain.
Manage the operations technology aspects of New Product Introduction projects from initial builds though to ramp, and serve as technical lead in resolving complex issues during bring-up and life of product.
Work with Product Design Engineers to identify manufacturing and test processes required to meet product design as well as partner closely with the Engineering teams and SQE during all phases of development and product introduction
Work with suppliers and Product Design engineers to develop fixtures to ensure correct performance and mechanical requirement, provide technical assessment of existing or new manufacturing partners and develop test processes to ensure quality
Serve as operations technical lead / manager and team up with SQE during all engineering builds as well as ramp; Ensure smooth handoff of product to Manufacturing after MP begins
Identify, prioritize and manage key technical changes and risks of a given product; ensure all technical risks associated with a product are identified and closed or mitigated to enable the quality ramp of a product ????
BS or BA engineering degree in ME, IE, or EE
5+ years of relevant work experience
Direct experience with High Volume Consumer Electronics Products and the processes used to build them, including Automated Test Systems, SMT, Injection molding and metal fabrication, and automated assembly processes
Proven track record of excellent project management skills, delivering project on-time, working in a matrix organization.
Excellent track record of managing a cross-functional team in order to achieve new product objectives inclusive of quality, yields and cost.
Direct experience managing a functional engineering team, and working with international OEM Partners.
Masters or MBA in related field of study.
10 years of experience in both Design Engineering and Manufacturing.
Frequent travel is expected (30% or more).
Experience with acoustic products and/or wearable electronics
Proficient in spoken and written Mandarin
