IP Infusion Inc. (ACCESS Systems, Inc.) provides a comprehensive set of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching and routing solutions for communication equipment vendors. Our scalable, modular technology enables OEMs and ODMs to develop innovative access, enterprise, edge, and core networking equipment while reducing development expenses and increasing time in market.
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver technical publications, in PDF and Web Help formats, plus other Web content that enables OEMs and customers to install and manage their networks using IP Infusion?s ZebOS Network Platform software, which is designed to power the world's largest networks and provide customized solutions for service providers and ODMs.
Research, design, create, and maintain clear, accurate, and professional documentation, including command references, developer guides, product configuration manuals, technical product briefs, FAQs, and other material as directed. Work directly with engineering, marketing, QA, support and others to define documentation requirements, and then design and implement the documentation set.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and other writers to make sure documentation meets both the product and customer requirements, and is delivered on time with high quality in multiple formats. You will be responsible for writing original content, reviewing the content of others, and project-managing your tasks to successful completion.
Requirements:
6+ years professional technical writing experience in the computer software industry, with emphasis on developer documentation and APIs.
Experience in networking technology and protocols.
Knowledge of C programming, including an ability to read code.
Excellent project management skills. Proven ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple projects concurrently.
Experience as lead working with cross-functional and global teams.
Technically savvy, with a strong background working as part of an engineering team.
A strong knowledge of publications processes, tools, and information delivery mechanisms.
Must be a creative, bright, innovative self-starter who wants to work on a fast-moving team to make a positive impact.
A good sense of humor and a flexible attitude.
Proven ability to design and write useful and understandable documentation on highly technical topics from scratch.
Excellent oral and written communication, interviewing, and project management skills.
Experience designing and implementing technical documentation suites.
Expert knowledge of publishing systems and tools, including FrameMaker, Acrobat, WebWorks ePublisher, Word, Powerpoint, etc.
Experience illustrating with Microsoft Visio.
Experience with Doxygen, Javadoc, or other document generation systems a plus.
Experience with XML and XML-based authoring systems a plus.
Familiarity with Linux highly desirable.
Ability to interact effectively with a variety of personalities and technical experience levels.
B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science, English, Technical Writing, or a comparable area.
