We are currently seeking a Sr. AV / VTC Engineer to provide superior leadership and hands-on technical operations support for audio/visual meeting technologies; video conference technologies; webcast production facilities; and post-production editing. This position works closely with and at the direction our client's IT staff and management to provide service direction and support of daily operations. It also provides white glove support to senior management end users. Position is Monday-Friday; 8.0 hours/day; flexible working hours to accommodate each day?s schedule of events.
This position is considered Level 3 and senior. As such, candidates must possess an in-depth and hands-on knowledge of Audio/Visual and video conferencing technologies, infrastructure, and bridge operations ? for both operations and troubleshooting.
Additionally, this position provides event and production support for webcasts originating from auditoriums and larger conference facilities. Basic post production editing experience is also required. The position requires highly developed interpersonal and customer service skills that enable the candidate to diffuse tensions and control situations.
This position carries no direct authority for decision making. However, the successsful candidate must work collaboratively with client's staff and take directions from client's IT management. Sound judgment is expected when triggering escalations. It is expected that the candidate will work well and dependably with minimal supervision.This position will not carry direct leadership or supervisory responsibilities. However, it requires someone who can dependably work with minimal supervision.
While reporting to Yorktel's Manager of Staff Augmentation, this position is on client site and works collaboratively with client's IT management. It requires a unique balance of providing guidance on A/V and VTC technologies while taking direction on daily scheduled activities for meeting supports and events; and taking direction on service offering design and capabilities.
This position acts as primary contact between Yorktel and client
Requires travel between customer sites in Morris County, NJ and Middlesex County, NJ
Ability to learn and perform tasks required of field engineers such as pulling and terminating various cable types
Main point of contact for organizing and scheduling work required with both the Client and the Yorktel Service Desk.
Document and provide Standard Operating Procedures regarding all aspects of Service Delivery.
Ensure the Onsite Technicians are current in all aspects of the technology being utilized within the Service and organize
training as relevant.
Conduct regular meetings between the Management Staff to ensure the Services are rolled out consistently over the various locations.
Ensure full of understanding of day-to-day activities as well as upcoming scheduled events to ensure full staffing and coverage in all situations.
Perform site reviews as required to ensure proper implementation and operational support.
Organize and schedule break Fix Technicians, 3rd Party Vendors and site visits from non contract personnel as necessary.
Maintain an attitude of continuous improvement and adoption of Client?s standards policies and procedures.
Adhere to all Clients? safety and security requirements for contractor personnel working onsite.
Friendly disposition and ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the Client?s environment.
Set and maintain proactive executive/high profile meeting support levels.
Provide best effort assistance to fulfil any multimedia technical needs as assigned.
Be responsible for the integrity of allocated rooms
o Perform regular room checks & preventative maintenance.
o Ensure that relevant ?help? documentation is available
o Ensure there are no ?safety issues? in the room ? i.e. trailing cables, etc.
Setup, testing, operation, and tear down of audio visual (AV) and videoconference equipment; (e.g. video data projection systems, computers, audio- and videoconference equipment, microphones, video cameras, audio systems, and operation of integrated AV systems) in compliance with the set of prescribed SOPs.
Execute and assist Service Delivery Center in all aspects of videoconferences including call set up, end user training, troubleshooting, and follow through on escalation of trouble issues.
Provide consultation and education to all levels of end users on presentation technology equipment.
Troubleshoot AV and videoconferencing related technology (various projectors, control systems, audio- and videoconferencing).
Maintain conference room integrity in compliance with SOPs.
Perform regular preventive maintenance checks (e.g., either report or address troubles such as cable management issues, safety standards non-compliance, etc.).
Escalate housekeeping and technical issues outside of AV and conferencing technology and applications to appropriate department.
Maintain understanding of current and new technology
Responsible for administrative tasks associated with team, such as time reporting, project fulfilment as directed by Pperations Manager.
Collate and report service escalations to Operations Management.
All other duties as assigned
This position is expected to resolve complex technical issues. They must also have a high level of understanding of the technology used and how to use it.
Key Technical Responsibilities:
Strong working knowledge of H.320 and H.323 videoconferencing standards
Ability to troubleshooting of AV Conferencing systems
Ability to work with control systems such as AMX and Crestron
Advanced Working experience with major videoconferencing equipment such as:
Codec?s from Polycom, Cisco Tandberg, and Radvision
MCU and control systems from Accord (Polycom, Tandberg) etc.
ISDN Network Infrastructure and Implementation (BRI and T1)
H.323 Endpoints, Gateways, MCU?s, and Gatekeepers
Sound board operations
Post production editing services using Adobe Create Suite Premier, Media Encoder, Encore, and Photoshop
Job Requirements :
5+ years of experience in telecommunication service industry
BA or BS desired
Infocomm Certified Technology Specialist and/or Polycom Certified Video Conferencing Engineer desired
Extensive knowledge of H.320 and H.323 videoconferencing standards
Troubleshooting of Audio/Visual and Video Conferencing systems.
Have extensive working experience with major videoconferencing equipment such as: codecs from Polycom and Cisco; control systems from Creston and AMX.
