Sr. Virtualization/Automation Eng. Ellie Mae
Summary of Responsibilities:
As the Senior Automation Engineer in the Ellie Mae SaaS Operations organization, this critical individual will be a team player responsible for the automation, set definition, and support of Ellie Mae?s Flexpod compute and storage assets using the Cloupia automation tool. This critical role with work with our application, network, storage, and system administration engineers to improve the time to deliver platform as a service architecture and automation in support of Ellie Mae?s customers
The types of tasks this individual is responsible are a mix of structured and unstructured tasks.
This individual will apply his/her experience and knowledge in solving routine to moderately complex problems.
Define appropriate Cloupia automation assets based on Cisco UCS, Netapp, and VMWare technologies working with Ellie Mae?s systems administration team.
Automate and define end to end provisioning of Ellie Mae?s converged architecture using Cloupia to reduce time to provision infrastructure platform services
Define and administer automation self service portals for Tier1 and development resources
Ensure automated infrastructure assets support service level availability and disaster recovery targets.
Document all automation flows to support Tier1/development self service provisioning needs
Measure automation flow performance in order to provide continual improvement in time to deploy converged IT infrastructure services
Demonstrates excellent understanding of technology and the role of the "client" in relation to the larger IT infrastructure
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
8-10 years of senior IT systems engineering experience in automating infrastructure delivery in a small to medium sized public company
Demonstrated, current senior level experience supporting Cisco Flexpod environment based on Cisco UCS, Nexus, and Netapp Storage required
Demonstrated experience with VMWare or third party hypervisor technologies--(VMware vCloud Director (vCD),VMware View, VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM), VMware Orchestrator)
Demonstrated experience developing system automation tools (using scripting language or config management tools) required
Demonstrated understanding and adherence of change-control process management required
Demonstrated solid understanding of systems automation provisioning, performance tuning, and general systems trouble shooting skills in a converged infrastructure required
Experience with provisioning tools like Cloupia preferred
Understanding of SMSQL applications and its impact on Flexpod environment preferred
Knowledge and experience with VMware Auxiliary technologies
Cloud experience working with vendors like AWS, Rackspace, Tier 3 desired
Experience building and supporting self service provisioning web portals desired
Strong interpersonal skills, gets along well with others.
Strong analytical & problem solving skills
Able to multi-task, can manage and prioritize several projects to meet deadlines.
Performs with minimal supervision, works well independently
Highly motivated self-starter, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and wants to learn new technologies.
