Sr. Web Java/ J2EE Applications Engineer LiveScribe

Reporting to Livescribe?s Director of Web Services this Sr. Engineer will become an integral part of our highly skilled, passionate and agile web team developing and enhancing a fully multitenant web platform.

We are seeking an individual with extraordinary engineering talent who has a proven track record of developing high performance, high capacity and scalable services.

Livescribe is conveniently located in Oakland on 880, 10 minutes north of the 880/ San Mateo Bridge junction. We have a FREE shuttle from BART to our front door!
Primary Responsibilities:

Hands on architecture and design of new and existing foundation frameworks and services
Apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts to develop innovative solutions and achieve objectives
Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
Re- architect existing codebase from WebObjects/EOF to Tomcat, Spring/Hibernate, Velocity Apache frameworks.
Apply your broad knowledge of object oriented technologies and designs in web services
Design and implement the next phase of scalable distributed ?cloud based? services
Interface with cross-functional engineering and QA teams providing support with technical solutions and performance analysis.

Skills and Technical Requirements:

Deep understanding of J2EE technology
Strong skills in Java programming, Java design patterns and server side Java
Substantial experience developing web applications
Proven experience developing high performance, high capacity and scalable services
Strong experience with object-oriented analysis, design and programming (OOA/OOD/OOP)
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Good understanding of open source technologies such as Spring and Hibernate


Qualifications and Education Requirements:

B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
10+ years of Java Development experience in developing online services and applications
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States

JCE/Cryptography API?s
Scripting experience with JavaScript/Python/Perl
Apache Web Server administration
