Staff Accountant Globus Medical

Description

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the administration and further development of our actual versus budget reporting process, including ensuring actual expenditures are properly recorded in the appropriate cost center, with the correct account and reference code. You will meet with department managers to review actual expenditures versus budget and will develop a feedback process to/from management for budget variances. You will be a key part of our accelerated month-end close by performing analysis, reporting and preparing journal entries.

The Staff Accountant will responsible for the maintenance of our fixed asset system and will work closely with the Cost Accounting and General Accounting Teams to provide meaningful asset and cost information to run the business. Maintaining assets includes tracking assets and reconciling FAS to the general ledger and our inventory system.

The Staff Accountant will be a team player and able to function well in a challenging and fast paced environment. You must be enthusiastic, positive, even tempered and have strong skills in areas of dependability, interpersonal relations, flexibility and maturity.



Responsibilities

Administration of actual versus budget reporting
Contribute to annual budget process regarding cost center spending
Maintenance of Fixed Asset System
Perform month-end journal entries and close activities
Prepare monthly reconciliations
Recommend controls for weaknesses identified
Participate in special projects as required

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Accounting
Minimum of two years of accounting experience
Experience with MAS500 & FAS500 preferred
Strong functional knowledge of MS Excel.
Requires demonstrated ability to be objective and use good judgment.
Ability to excel in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
Well organized, detail oriented team player with proven ability to multitask effectively.
