FUNCTION:
The Staff Accountant will review/analyze data, analyze print costs invoices and ensure accurate billing for third party print costs. Will review, analyze and present to senior management, Controller and Chief Financial Officer recommendations that will assist in seeking reimbursement. This position also ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, ad-hoc reporting and analysis, and prepares detailed analysis and gives recommendation and reports to senior management. Will perform other financial functions on an as-needed basis.
Duties
Will review/analyze data, analyze print costs invoices and ensure accurate billing for third party print costs.
Prepares detailed analysis and gives recommendation and reports to senior management.
Will review, analyze and present to senior management, Controller and Chief Financial Officer recommendations that will assist in seeking reimbursement.
Will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Will perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis, General ledger review.
Review and analysis of accounts, invoices.
Month end closing process including journal entries and G/L account reconciliation.
Bank account reconciliation.
Identifies overbillings.
Verifies accuracy of third party accounts.
Will seek reimbursement of accounts.
Administers customer and order data bases and creates queries.
Semi-monthly commission processing for sales representatives.
Accounts receivable.
Sales order, invoice, and refund processing.
Respond to and resolve credit card kickbacks.
Cash receipt and Payment Plan posting.
Research and follow up on unidentified payments.
Credit and collections activities in accordance with company policies.
Process W-9 and Assignment of Rights forms.
Process requests for recuts of royalty and referral checks.
Assistance to Customer Service, Sales staff, and customers on accounting issues.
Reconcile various general ledger accounts.
Bank reconciliations.
Special projects assigned by the Controller.
Job Requirements:
Education: High school diploma required. Bachelors? degree in Accounting preferred.
CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years relevant experience required.
Specific Skills:
Excellent 10 key and keyboarding speed and accuracy;
Superior knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook e-mail, Internet use, and typing skills at 50 WPM;
Well developed interpersonal, written, and problem-solving skills;
Intermediate personal computer skills using Outlook, Word, and Excel;
Intermediate skills with accounting software; Ability to organize tasks in order to meet deadlines, handle multiple priorities, organize records, provide documentation where necessary, and work independently with minimal supervision;
Ability to use judgment in processing paperwork in accordance with company policies.
Physical Skill: Sufficient manual and digital dexterity to work with a computer, keyboard, mouse, monitor, and phone pad. May need to lift mail bins and/or boxes weighing 20-30 pounds and carry down stairs.
Working Conditions: 8:00 am ? 5:00 pm core schedule with frequent flexibility for start and ending times. Additional hours and/or overtime depending on the position may be required due to business needs. Other duties may be required as assigned.
