TiER1 is looking for a staff accountant who can be part of a rapidly growing consulting company to support the Finance Director in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance/Accounting Department. We are looking for a top performer with a great deal of initiative who is able to manage the details of the position, communicate effectively with others and still able to look for opportunities to improve the business.
Primary duties and responsibilities would include the following:
Prepare monthly financials for the Finance/Accounting Department.
Maintain the fixed asset and associated depreciation schedules for general journal entries; insure proper recording of new purchases and disposals.
Process Accounts Payable paperwork at completion of the check run.
Maintain monthly general ledger reconciliations including payroll and benefits.
Maintain files as needed within the department.
Assist with payroll system and payroll related items.
Assist in tracking and maintaining company insurance policies (except Employee Benefits, which are maintained by the HR Department).
Provide financial reporting and analysis of financials as needed.
Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time ? quite often on short notice.
3+ years of accounting experience
Bachelors degree in accounting or business with emphasis in accounting, is preferred.
Must be detail-oriented, with no tolerance for financial sloppiness.
Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.
Must be highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets.
Must be skilled in use of MS Word and must be a very good writer in order to handle the occasional administrative needs of the department.
Must have very good verbal skills.
Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
Be well-respected and trusted professionally and very likable personally
Be capable of both big-picture thinking and detailed task execution
