Position Summary
FedBid seeks a Senior Accountant who will be responsible for performing and directing our day-to-day general ledger accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, meticulous attention to detail, solid analytical skills, and be willing and able to provide service above and beyond expectations. This position will assist with managing our Staff Accountants and Intern; the incumbent will report to the Assistant Controller.
Duties:
Post certain day-to-day accounting transactions
Perform various month-end account reconciliation procedures
Assist with posting month-end closing entries and updating month-end schedules
Oversee Company?s accounts payable function
Perform various departmental and income statement related budget-to-actual analysis
Prepare A/R reports for bi-weekly collections meeting and month-end reporting to Company?s CEO and CFO
Serve as primary interface for training on Company?s travel and expense module
Other duties as assigned by the CFO, Vice President, Finance or Assistant Controller
Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting required
Must have a minimum of 4 years of general ledger accounting experience, some supervisory experience preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP
Knowledge of automated and financial systems, advanced Excel skills required, Great Plains preferred
Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in all interactions with management, other departments, all levels of employees, and Company?s outside vendors
Demonstrated ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize to accomplish specific tasks
High level of initiative and accuracy, must be energetic, flexible and able to work in a quickly changing environment
Proven analytical capabilities and problem solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple requests from various sources while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
