The Staff Accountant performs a variety of professional accounting and finance functions for all
BST locations, including general ledger, month-end close, administering the Accounts Payable
function, entering cash receipts, administering the ExpensAble expense reporting system,
reviewing and entering expense reports, tracking and recording fixed assets including
maintaining fixed assets records, assisting with administration of company credit cards, and
analyzing and verifying fiscal records and reports. Vendor and internal employee interaction are
Major Responsibilities, Activities and Task Statements:
1. Coordinate Accounts Payable process ensuring efficient and timely payments to vendors
2. Conduct month-end closing activities, and maintain general ledger and subledgers.
3. Post cash receipts daily.
4. Process expense reports checking for compliance with company travel policy.
5. Administer the ExpensAble expense reporting system.
6. Assist with administration of company credit cards.
7. Maintain petty cash fund.
8. Calculate and record deferred revenue.
9. Perform fixed asset accounting.
10. Review and track capital expenditures and prepare monthly summary.
11. Record depreciation expense.
12. Assist with annual financial audit.
13. Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with
generally accepted accounting principles.
14. Use various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical
packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or
reports. 15. Apply a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations; verify documents for
completeness and compliance with government and private agencies.
16. On a regular and continuous basis, exercise administrative judgment and assume
responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results having an impact on people, costs,
and/or quality of service within the functional area.
17. Complete various projects and research during the month as requested.

? Knowledge of auditing practices and principles
? Intermediate to advance knowledge of Excel and spreadsheet applications
? Experience in maintaining accurate financial records and preparing clear and accurate
reports for informational, auditing and operational use
? Experience reconciling accounts, records, reports and journals
? Experience in full charge general ledger accounting and assistance in preparing financial
and/or auditor statements, schedules and reports
? Excellent interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and oral and written communication
and presentation skills
? Self-starter/results oriented/detail oriented; proven ability to achieve results across the
? Proven leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with others at various levels
within the organization
? Must be very detail-oriented
? Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related field
? Experience in a professional corporate environment
? Experience in similar industry
? Interest in pursuing CPA or advanced certification

Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment,

travel, including international travel may be required.
