Position Summary: Reporting directly to the Accounting Supervisor, in the Finance department. The staff accountant will be responsible for supporting the financial operations of the Company providing accounting, compliance, analysis, reporting and reconciliations, and other areas as assigned.
Responsible for a variety of general accounting processes, month-end journal entry preparation, analysis, and reconciliations.
Prepare and reconcile all banking and corporate treasury management activities, monthly analysis and reporting.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual state and local tax filings.
Assist with compiling and preparing analysis, schedules, and cash flow statements for the quarterly and annual financial audits.
Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and analysis in accordance with US GAAP.
Assist with US GAAP research of technical accounting positions for complex transactions.
Preparation of long-lived and intangible asset analysis and documentation on a quarterly and /or annual basis.
Assist with Sarbanes Oxley documentation efforts.
Other finance / accounting responsibilities will be assigned as needed.
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting required. Licensed CPA or CPA candidate, preferred.
Minimum 2 - 3 years experience in public or corporate accounting, public company experience preferred.
Prior experience working for an internet or media company, a plus.
Must submit to a background check.
Advanced Excel skills, a must. MS Office.
GP Dynamics knowledge preferred, though recent experience with big ERP (Oracle, SAP, etc.) is OK.
Must be systems savvy and have the ability and drive to learn.
Exceptional attention to detail and accounting accuracy, with a proven understanding of US GAAP.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems.
Impeccable organization, oral and written communication skills.
Must be a self-starter and enjoys hands on responsibilities, with a mind geared towards process improvements.
Ability to adapt to changing work environment/responsibilities.
Effective interpersonal and team skills.
Knowledge of internal controls, SOX documentation and control testing experience a plus.
