Description:
We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant in our Finance and Accounting department. This position will have a broad range of responsibilities involving many aspects of general ledger accounting, payroll, monthly close and internal controls. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and have strong experience in general accounting.
-Title will be commensurate with experience (Staff Accountant-Senior Accountant).
Primary responsibilities include:
Responsible for general accounting tasks in accordance with GAAP, including but not limited to monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, preparation of journal entries, and monthly reconciliation of bank statements
Perform fixed asset accounting processes (acquisition, depreciation, disposition, and inventory)
Prepare and assist in preparation of monthly closing reports, quarterly review and annual audits
Perform account analysis to review monthly variances to ensure expenses are posted to correct accounts
Prepare timely and accurate invoicing, and related journal entries, in accordance with collaboration agreements
Prepare and assist with SBIR monthly and quarterly grant reporting
Responsible for timely and accurate processing of semi-monthly payroll for 70+ employees using ADP including all quarterly and year-end reporting and filings
Perform annual reconciliation of W2?s
Responsible for timely processing of 401k funding and support various 401k reporting requirements including the annual non-discrimination testing, 401K audit, and Form 5500 filing
Assist with daily stock administration utilizing Equity Edge
Maintain appropriate policies and procedures in support of Sarbanes Oxley compliance and process all transactions in accordance with established policies
Perform ad hoc analysis and other projects as required

Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience including general ledger, fixed assets, and payroll.
Knowledge and exposure to project accounting
Knowledge of payroll rules and regulations
Knowledge and exposure to Sarbanes Oxley environment including, process documentation and internal control testing
Strong computer skills ? Great Plains Dynamics, ADP, Equity Edge, and Excel
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet critical deadlines
Attention to detail and strong accounting, analytical and reconciliation skills
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
Excellent organizational skills with respect to all aspects of the job
