Job DescriptionThe Staff Accountant will drive project improvements, effectiveness and efficiency of the finance team through streamlined processes and improvements. Additional responsibilities include Systems implementation, vendor invoices and expenses. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities/Key Task
Matches accounts payable invoices with purchase orders, processes expense reports, substantiates business transactions, and assigns general ledger account codes.
Assist with purchasing by entering and processing purchase orders, maintaining and compiling purchasing reports, and working with suppliers and vendors.
Coordinates the printing of weekly accounts payable check run.
Configures and manages several spreadsheets of information for accounting.
Prepares various monthly accounts payable accrual entries for the financials.
Identify and classify expenses and ensure proper authorizations and charges from vendors and creditors prior to payment
Match vendor invoices against purchase orders, reconcile and resolve discrepancies with purchasing and receiving departments
Correspond with vendor relating to invoice/payment related issues.
Monthly account reconciliation and timely resolutions of open items.
Develop productivity metrics and produce monthly scorecard to assess the efficiency of payables processes
Manage systems implementations for building process improvement

Requirements/Qualification
Ideal candidates will have 2-4 years experience in Accounting or related area.
Maintains attention to detail, completing multiple or repetitive tasks. Demonstrates a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals or deadlines.
Ability to think proactively and consistently meets deadlines.
