Education Required:
MS in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience, or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years of experience
Experience Required:
? Strong experience and skills in at least two of the following: optics systems, control systems, mass flow and thermodynamics, system integration, microfluidics systems, mechanical and thermal simulations
? Experience working with analytical instrumentation and automation equipment is a strong plus

? Mechanical Engineer: Development, Instruments, and Systems
Job Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
? Responsible for the design of critical sub-assemblies which integrate into larger, complex instrumentation
? Develop functional specification and requirement documents
? Generate documents for the design process from concept thm manufacturing handofl
? Assemble and test designs
? Conducts and documents failure analysis and root cause
? Conducts design verification testing and documents the process
? Prepare reports and design reviews
? Work with document control software: generating ECOs, generating part and assembly part numbers, generating BOMs.
? Generate SolidWorks models and drawings
? Conduct tolerance analysis
? Conduct design analysis (FEA or other methods)
Secondary Responsibilities:
? Participate in product definition and design in coordination with Engineering and Marketing staff
? Mentor and advise more junior engineers
? Coordinate with other members of the technical staff to ensure efl1cient operation of the Engineering Department
Skills Required:
? Proficient with SolidWorks and mechanical drawing
? Knowledge of and experience with electronic document control systems is required
Job Knowledge:
? Knowledge of a variety of manufacturing techniques and processes
? Basic knowledge of PDP
? Biological and Chemistry knowledge a plus
