Reports to: Manager, Quantitative Strategy
Role:
The Statistical Analyst will work closely with members of the Sales, Operations and IT departments. The analyst will be responsible for writing and maintaining SAS code, running reports and communicating the results to the rest of the company. The ideal candidate will have a well rounded background in both Statistics and Business. Ideally the candidate will possess the following skills: technical, quantitative/statistical and communication.
Responsibilities:
Run and maintain weekly modeling reports using SAS. Communicate findings to Project Managers and Senior Management.
Become an expert at using Acurian?s proprietary projection model. Make improvements when necessary.
Assess the performance of company?s projects through statistical analysis of the data. Present findings in graphical format.
Provide project projections for Acurian sales proposals.
Understand and learn the business. Provide ad hoc analytical solutions for all members of the company.
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree required in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics or other quantitative discipline
3-5 years work experience in an analyst or statistics position
SAS experience or a demonstrated ability to learn SAS quickly is highly preferred
Basic knowledge of databases, querying large datasets or writing SQL statements
Strong Excel skills a must
Experience writing code in Visual Basic, C++, VBA, Java or similar programming language a plus
Ability to learn the business and communicate with non-technical peers
